Which Champagne would You treat your parents or in-laws?
‘My father and his wife really like when I “dive deep into the rabbit cage” (wedges down in the wine cellar) and pick up something handsome and polished from one of the ultra-sophisticated houses. Why not a bottle of Brut Réserve from the favorite Charles Heidsieck ?! It is called Baby-Krug for a reason !’

‘My dear wife has become more and more conservative over the years in terms of her wine taste. Her fad for Blanc de Blancs, however, is intact. Here it is important to hit big… and mature! One of the biggest elegances is ‘Comtes de Champagne’ from Taittinger. Why not one of my few bottles from 1990?’

I’m my own boss! So it must be an inspiration from the welknown ice cream commercial ‘Me & my Magnum!’ At the moment it must be 2008 Vouettes et Sorbee ‘Fidèle’. A wonderfully sumptuous biodynamic wine Pinot Noir by the magnum.’

‘When I get tired of modern tones, I like to come back to one of the best bottles of the year in all categories – Krug ‘Grande Cuvée’ (blend 1961-1971)’
Which Champagne would You treat a dream guest, and why?
Would be both star-struck and extremely pleased if I got to share a 1998 bottle of ‘Amour de Deutz’ from Deutz with Madonna after a gig somewhere on the west coast of North America. Has always been fascinated by her as an artist and style icon.
