Champagne sales 2021: +32 over 2020

The Comité ChampagneCIVC has just released the champagne sales results for 2021 when the industry’s turnover reached € 5.5 billion and total shipments reached 322 million bottles.

The Comité ChampagneCIVC has just released the champagne sales results for 2021 when the industry’s turnover reached € 5.5 billion and total shipments reached 322 million bottles.

This represents an increase of +32% in volume and +31% in value over 2020 when the market was severely hit by the lockdowns due to the Covid-19 pandemic and 244 million bottles of champagne were sold for a total turnover of € 4.2 billion.

Compared to 2019, before the pandemic, the growth is +8.5% in volume and +10% in value.

The Comité Interprofessionnel du Vin de Champagne – CIVC or simply Comité Champagneis the trade association that represents the interests of the two main stakeholders of Champagne: houses and growers.
