If you want to be picky, you should emphasize that their wealth is valued based on the assets they have in their apartments. And assets can be relative. A few weeks ago, however, the owner of the luxury conglomerate LVMH, Bernard Arnault, could stand on top and look down on giants like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

At the time of writing, however, the scheme has been restored with Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos on gold and silver plates.

For us wine lovers, Bernard Arnault is best known for his dominance among champagne houses where he owns, among others: Moët & Chandon, Dom Pérignon, Mercier, Veuve Clicquot, Krug and Ruinart. But also wineries such as Château d’Yquem, Domaine Chandon and Cloudy Bay and spirits brands such as Hennessy, Belvedere and Glenmorangie.

Bernard Arnault is also the owner of a number of luxury brands. Here are some examples: Clothes and bags such as Louis Vuitton, Dior, Céline, Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan. Perfume and cosmetics: Christian Dior, Givenchy, Guerlain and Acqua di Parma. Watches and jewellery: TAG Heuer, Hublot, De Beers and Tiffany & Co.
