BIO

Valentino Pusnava – Winemob

Valentino Pusnava is one of the most well-known German wine bloggers, being a familiar face at all major wine events in Europe such as ProWein, VinItaly or MeranoWineFestival. He is WSET certified, and his background is in business with a strong focus on DIGITAL and eCOMMERCE. The combination of technical and digital skills, make him a “piece de resistance” in the wine industry.

His main goal and drive are the communication about wine in a very authentic way – and this is probably his major skill: telling people about wine and at the same time having fun while doing it! As Valentino says, “people need to be entertained”. He is an avid champagne taster and collector, and he has been recently inthronized as a Chevalier in l’Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne.

Which Champagne would You treat your parents or in-laws?

‘I would treat them with a bottle of Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé. This is an elegant, delicate, smooth and well-balanced champagne. Marvelous aromas of red berries, baked apples, brioche combined with green apple acidity, fresh raspberries and an intense long finish with biscuit notes, show the fascinating character of this champagne. I believe, this champagne would show my respect, gratitude and romanticism towards them.

Which Champagne would You treat your lover?

‘I would treat my lover with Amour de Cuvée from Maison Duménil. This is a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier – 50/50 – coming from Chigny-Les-Roses, Rilly-La-Montagne and Ludes, all Premier Cru villages. It is rich, seductive and indulgent. Lots of freshness and finesse wit aromas of blackcurrants, red currants, strawberries, almonds, quince and plums. Remarkably elegant – pure joy for the heart and soul.

Which Champagne would You treat your boss?

‘I would treat my boss with Dom Picard Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru from Collard-Picard. A refreshing, mineral and elegant BdB with aromas of brioche, biscuit, toast, pear, peach and lime. The mineral character comes to play with precise notes of apricot, honey, apple and grapefruit. A complex, dense and well-rounded champagne with lots of personality – my boss would appreciate this one!

Which Champagne would You treat yourself?

‘I would treat myself with Grande Sendrée 2010 from Maison Drappier. It is rich, complex and elegant champagne with beautiful notes of apple, lemon zest, honey, brioche, almond and yellow plum. On the palate it continues to unveil a multitude of great aromas, but almond and brioche dominate the aftertaste. Smooth, well-rounded, mineral – this is a fantastic champagne that I will remember for a long time.

Which Champagne would You treat a dream guest, and why, and who’s is Your dream guest?

‘My dream guest would be Johnny Depp, because of his great acting skills, versatility and unique persona. I would treat him with Cristal 2000 from Louis Roederer, as I think it fits his personality and overall aura. Uplifting acidity, opulent, audacious, unpredictable, multiple layers which unveil themselves, as you sip through it – the perfect Cristal vintage in my view!!! Pure gold in the glass!!!

What piece of music would you listen to drinking wine in question 5 ? ]

‘I would listen to KALEO – Way Down We Go
