Caroline Brun

Caroline BRUN is a pure product of Champagne: A native multi-faceted blend who literally waves the wine and art professionals when creating and founding LA DEGUSTATION VISUELLE.

Grower, wine communicator, guide, ambassador, international tasting jury member, even sake sommelier, she has over three decades of experience in the wine industry, 11 of which at Champagne Bollinger as a warm-hearted storyteller and as global Champagne Ambassador for the IWC. She has been mentioned in Decanter, Robb Report, and in Conde Nast Magazine, which refers to her as “one of the foremost wine guide in the region”. Caroline has also found an innovating way to share her champagne culture and express her genuine expertise through her textured art: Indeed, she paints her tasting notes and offers a puzzling synesthesia and abstract art which was rewarded last year in Italy when the artist received the special mention of the jury as the best international artist of the MAVV Wine Art Museum 2021 art contest in Portici.

Which Champagne would you treat your best friend?

‘A bottle of ‘Blanc des Millénaires’ of Charles Heidsieck as my father has been their estate manager in Aÿ for a long time.‘

Which Champagne would You treat your lover?

‘Definitely a prestige cuvée !
I will choose a bottle of Grand Siècle of Laurent Perrier as it was the first glass of champagne we shared together at the BBQ day we met.’

Which Champagne would You treat your boss?

‘I am my own boss but I work in 2 fields, so I choose my artistic cap to answer this question. I will treat myself with a Dom Pérignon as La dégustation visuelle was born after a memorable tasting I had the chance to do in the Abbaye of a 1971. The emotion was so great I had to keep it, so I painted it. Without this particular tasting, I would never have revealed myself as an artist.‘

Which Champagne would You treat yourself?

‘A bottle of La Belle Epoque, this cuvée will stay forever in my heart, as Champagne Perrier-Jouët spontaneously offered to sponsor me when they heard about for my 1^st Californian art show which was to me a real a leap of faith. By showing me such trust and confidence to introduce their prestige cuvée to art lovers, they gave me strong wings, that I will never forget and I am still very grateful for that.’

Which Champagne would You treat a dream guest, and why?

‘To respect my dream guest who once advise “to be gentle with the Earth”. I will choose a which is perfectly in connection to that, and pick up a champagne with soul and depth. A ‘Cuvée des Grands Vintages‘ of the Eric Rodez family from Ambonnay.
[ what piece of music would you listen to drinking wine with Your dream guest ?]
A champagne made with a lot of sweat and heart, done in an organic and biodynamic way which offers a great balance and harmony which perfectly match my dream guest personality. The Dalai Lama. And I will pair this moment with Breathe of G3n3sis X, the title will echoe my guest meditative spirit and the smooth tempoof the song will match perfectly the delicacy of Rodez wine (and also please the DJ Mickael Rodez).’
