M. Richard Juhlin is awarded the chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur by a decrete by the Président of the French Republic, M. François Hollande. The award is handed over to Richard Juhlin by the French amassador in Sweden, M. Jean-Pierre Lacroix duriing a ceremony at the French residence in Stockholm.

‘Richard Juhlin is one of the most wellknown and best Champagne connoisseurs of Champagne. He has clasified more than 8 000 Champagnes, wich means that his Champagne database is the most  most comprehensive review of the Champagne district and its wines ever made. It’s a great job. He is a true ambassador for Champagne-Ardenne region in Sweden and all over the world and this award is a way to thank him,’ ‘

Richard Juhlin’s Champagne connoisseur who has written a number of books on champagne translated into several languages, including A scent of champagne (2013) and Champagne Guide (2008). He has the world record for the number of tested champagnes. He is a writer and lecturer, and is consulted for Champagne tastings worldwide. Between 1987 and 1995 Mr. Richard Juhlin was a PE teacher. The holiday was spent in French wine regions, and interest in wine soon developed into a passion for champagne and a new career.

The Legion of Honor is France’s most distinguished awards It was instituted by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802. The Order is awarded for outstanding military or civilian operations. More on the Legion d’Honneur.
