This is how the local newspaper L’Union expresses itself today. The reason? Russia has decided that only Russian bubble may be called Champagne in Russia. Champagne from Champagne can no longer be called that, but must be called Sparkling Wine if, for example, Moët & Chandon wants to continue selling their bottles to the Russians. This will be a large-scale geopolitical drama in the future. In any case, it can be stated that Champagne – both the region and the drink – has been in the European political hot air since the beginning of the bubble era. And continues to be so even today.
