Every bottle tells a story. What’s Yours? Every week we interview people in the world of Champagne on their iconic bottles. Now & then TheChampagneSommelier will interview some of the true people of Champagne. He will ask a few questions about their company, their profession current trends, etc.

This week we had a bubbly chat with Kristofer Ruscon – owner of Hatt et Söner in Bergères-lés-Vertus.

Estimated reading time: 6 minutes

Describe yourself in a few sentences!

‘I work very long term, everything I do is thinking over a life time. Helping others is key to success. I live life like it is a movie and always think of every setting like it was a film. I thrive in beauty in arts, nature and people. And I am not really good at anything.‘

How did you get into the champagne profession ?

‘It was by accident, my family had been in the wine trade since the early 19th century and we knew a lot of wine families, one of which was a champagne producer. That caught my interest at a very early age and when I had the chance, even if a very small one to work with champagne, I took it.’
