TASTING NOTE by Champagne Club by Richard Juhlin ‘So finally my annual box of the six magical Lieux-dits wines from Selosse arrived. Bout de Clos Ambonnay should of course be compared to its Selosse relatives, but also to the expensive Krug Clos d´Ambonnay. Once again, Selosse’s version is absolutely fantastic! Super intense and elegant at the same time. Narcotic, intoxicating perfume with clear similarities to Selosse’s own Les Carelles from Le Mesnil, even more so Krug Clos d´Ambonnay and actually also the red wine giant Romanée Conti in its intense oriental spiciness and sandalwood bouquet. Silky smooth and extremely multifaceted. Absolutely wonderfully finely tuned and reeking of lovely sublime red citrus. Slow and stylish with deep developable greatness around the corner. Caressingly beautiful right from the start, thanks in large part to the ultra-complex solera starting in 2004. 1 point better than the 2006 Krug Clos d´Ambonnay next to it is magnificent!’
‘Thanks for existing Anselme!’
