Every Friday TheChampagneSommelier will ask 5 questions about 5 coeur de bouteilles to friends and Champagne lovers from near and far.

This week Björnstierne interviewed one part of Dos Gardenias – Amalia G Stöckel. From whom we’ve unshamlessly have knicked their concept with the Friday interview ! Thx Amiga Amalia & Amigo Don Carlos !

PS I was the first guest in their podcast DOS GARDENIAS [listen here]

Who am I Amalia G Stöckel, editor and writer at DosGardenias.se online wine magazine and podcast. Studied sommelierie at Restaurangakademien but will never work as one since I would give people a hard time. Am a writing sommelier and quite a picky one.

Which Champagne would You treat your parents or in-laws?

I would gladly treat my old folks to a bottle of Dom Perignon! My father has always been a fan of the early James Bond-movies, he prefers Sean Connery as mr Bond though, and I have a soft spot for Roger Moore. Anyhow, Dom Perignon vintage 2010 is delicious overload and released in Sweden now.

Which Champagne would You treatMy inlaws and the rest of my extended family?

I would treat with André Clouet ‘Silver Brut Nature’, preferably in magnum bottle if possible, since we all know that size matters when it comes to champagne.

Which Champagne would You treat your lover?

My beloved husband always says that too exclusive and expensive beverages are wasted on him…but I’d still treat him to a glass or two of Bollinger ‘La Grande Année Brut’ 2012 since it is our oldest sons’ vintage.

Which Champagne would You treat your boss?

I am my own boss, an as such I am an extremely demanding mofo, which is why I would treat me to a bottle of Louis Roederer ‘Rosé’ 2014. It puts me in a careless, Versailles-like ”let them eat cake!”-mood, which in my case is something very good since I usually am a bonafide control freak.

Which Champagne would You treat yourself?

Krug. Krug. Krug! Because the ongoing love affair I have with myself includes spoiling myself rotten and selfindulge.

Which Champagne would You treat a dream guest, and why?

I’d love to share obscene amounts of Cristal (vintage does not matter) with Oscar Wilde. He is one of my all time favourite writers and I’d love to have his sharp and witty thoughts on what is going on in the world today. While we do this, we’d listen to music from all Spike Lee-productions. What a delight!
