On May 30, Pommery Grand Cru 2009 will be launched in Systembolaget’s temporary range – an exclusive vintage champagne made exclusively with grapes from Grand Cru-classified vineyards. An elegant and complex cuvée that is now making a long-awaited guest appearance in Sweden via importer Domaine Wines.
Pommery Grand Cru 2009 is the result of the exceptional year 2009 – a year known for its optimal weather conditions, where both pinot noir and chardonnay ripened to perfection. The champagne consists of 50% chardonnay and 50% pinot noir, sourced from seven Grand Cru villages, including Aÿ, Verzenay, Avize and Cramant.
With over ten years of aging on the lees, the wine has developed a rich and mature character with great finesse. The aroma offers notes of brioche, roasted nuts, dried fruit and citrus zest. The taste is deep and balanced with creamy mousse, elegant acidity and a long finish.
